Nourison’s talented designers and master craftsmen have reimagined those precious heirlooms – now only seen in museums and private collections – reproducing their spectacular detail and color to enrich the homes of today. In depth of color, detail of design, and pure artistry, the Timeless Collection recreates the opulence of the past for today’s discerning decorators.
No more exquisite harmony was ever realized in any Persian Rug than the original silk Isfahan rug of Central Persia, according to its description when placed at auction by the Doris Duke Collection. Woven during the 16th Century reign of Shah Abbas, the antique, million-dollar rug has a brilliant quality achieved through the subtle use of 14 shades of color, more than the 8-10 shades more typical of fine oriental rugs. Through scrolling floral vinery and arabesques, the golden-grounded original commands attention with regal poise. Nourison reinterprets this magnificent piece, capturing its glory with exceptional intricacy in the vining pattern and rich, coppery tones with delicate blue and green detailing on a lusciously patinated ground. As commanding of admiration as its original, this highly refined design displays all the qualities of Nourison’s renowned artistry and meticulous craftsmanship.
